This page explains what information the SyncFit app handles, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using the app you agree to the practices described here. SyncFit exists to move your own Fitbit data into Apple Health on your own device. It has no servers of its own, no account to create, and no analytics.
SyncFit connects to your Fitbit account with your permission, downloads the health and activity data you have chosen to sync, and writes it into Apple Health on your iPhone. The transfer runs directly between your device, Fitbit's servers and Apple Health. Your health data is never sent to us and never passes through any server we operate.
When you tap Connect, SyncFit opens Fitbit's own sign-in page in a secure system browser window. You enter your Fitbit credentials on Fitbit's site, not in the app — SyncFit never sees or stores your Fitbit username or password. Fitbit then gives the app an access token, which is stored in your device's Keychain and used only to request the data you selected. You can disconnect at any time from Settings, which deletes the stored token from your device. You can also revoke SyncFit's access from your Fitbit account settings at any time.
Depending on which metrics you enable, SyncFit may request the following from Fitbit and write it to Apple Health: steps, distance, floors climbed, active and resting energy, workouts, heart rate and resting heart rate, blood oxygen, respiratory rate, cardio fitness (VO₂ max), sleep stages, body weight, body fat percentage, body mass index, lean body mass, water intake and dietary energy. Only the metrics you switch on are requested.
This data is written into Apple Health, which stores it on your device under Apple's own protection. SyncFit requests write-only access to Apple Health. It does not request permission to read your existing Health data, and it cannot see health information recorded by your Apple Watch, by other apps, or by you.
You control every metric individually inside the app, and you can change or revoke SyncFit's Health permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app under Privacy & Security → Health → SyncFit.
SyncFit stores your Fitbit access token in the Keychain, and your preferences — which metrics are enabled, your sync window, whether background sync is on, and a short history of recent sync attempts — in the app's private storage. None of this is uploaded anywhere. Deleting the app removes it from your device.
If you subscribe to SyncFit Pro or buy Lifetime access, the app can sync in the background. iOS decides when to run these background refreshes. Each run does the same thing a manual sync does: fetch from Fitbit, write to Apple Health. Nothing additional is collected, and background sync can be turned off in Settings.
If you allow notifications, SyncFit schedules alerts on your device to tell you when a background sync finished or needs your attention. These notifications are created and delivered locally by your device. No notification content is sent through any server of ours.
SyncFit Pro and Lifetime access are sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Your payment is handled entirely by Apple; we never see your payment details. The app asks Apple whether a valid purchase exists in order to unlock background sync, and receives only that answer.
SyncFit does not use any third-party analytics, advertising or tracking services. It does not track you across other apps or websites, and there are no advertising identifiers in the app.
We do not operate servers that collect your information. If you email us for support, we receive whatever you choose to include in that email, and we use it only to answer you. The support form in the app pre-fills your app version, iOS version and device model so we can help; you can delete any of that before sending.
The only third parties involved are Fitbit (Google), whose API provides your data and whose privacy policy governs the data held in your Fitbit account, and Apple, which provides Apple Health and In-App Purchases. We encourage you to review their policies for how they handle your information.
Your Fitbit token is stored in the iOS Keychain. Your health data is stored by Apple Health in its own protected database. All network requests to Fitbit use HTTPS. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
SyncFit is a data transfer tool and is not a medical device. The data it copies is produced by your Fitbit device and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Do not rely on it for medical decisions, and always consult a qualified healthcare provider about your health.
SyncFit is intended for adults with their own Fitbit account. The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page and are effective immediately once posted, so please review this page periodically.
